A late Victorian or Edwardian cast iron fireplace insert of rectangular form. The outer frame is decorated with a molded border featuring an interlaced Celtic-style knotwork pattern. The central decorative hood is heavily embossed with ornate foliate and scroll motifs surrounding a central raised oval cartouche. The insert is flanked by two vertical columns, each containing three glazed ceramic tiles. These tiles feature a high-relief molded floral design depicting a deep maroon flower set against a cream and yellow ground with vibrant green scrollwork and foliage. The unit is complete with its original matching cast iron front bars and integrated grate. No maker marks, registration numbers, or backstamps are visible on the front of the piece.
