A pair of high-back side chairs in the late 17th-century Restoration (Carolean) style, likely 19th-century revival examples. Constructed from a dark-stained hardwood, possibly oak, the chairs feature elaborately carved crest rails with central foliate acanthus motifs flanked by scrolled elements. Each chair has an oval caned back panel set within a carved frame, supported by turned uprights topped with decorative finials. The seats are trapezoidal with inset caning within a moulded wooden frame. The chairs are supported by bobbin-turned legs and stretchers, with a highly decorative, deeply carved front stretcher that mirrors the foliate and scroll motifs of the crest rail.
Dimensions: Standard-sized dining chairs.
