This lot comprises two vintage walking canes of distinct styles. The first features a polished horn handle in the form of a shepherd’s crook, showing translucent qualities and natural grain. An incised name, appearing to read H. DARLINGTON or S.P. DARLINGTON, is visible on the side of the handle near the join. It is mounted on a dark, tapered wooden shaft. The second cane is topped with a hand-carved wooden handle depicting a dog’s head, likely a greyhound or whippet, with ears swept back. This handle is secured by a brass collar to a rustic, light-coloured wooden shaft, possibly hazel or ash, which exhibits natural knots and texture.
