A late 19th or early 20th-century coach or hunting horn of traditional straight-bodied form. The piece is constructed from hand-rolled sheet copper with visible longitudinal solder seams and a flared bell. It is fitted with three brass ferrules and a brass mouthpiece. Such instruments were traditionally used for carriage signalling or by the Royal Mail. An impressed mark consisting of a line of characters is present on the central brass ferrule, though it is heavily worn and cannot be clearly deciphered.
