An early 20th-century desktop book trough constructed from oak with a dark-stained finish. The piece features a shaped backboard with a scalloped cresting and is flanked by solid upright ends. These ends are detailed with curved tops and decorative circular bosses applied to the exterior faces. The trough is supported by two integrated block-style feet. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
