This collection of British militaria includes a variety of personal effects and field equipment primarily dating from the mid-20th century. The lot features a dark wooden regimental swagger stick with a nickel-silver cap embossed with the badge of the Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire, showing a Maltese cross with the Prince of Wales’s feathers, Roman numerals XIX, and a scroll inscribed PRINCE OF WALES OWN YORKSHIRE REG. An RAF equipment box is present, consisting of a grey-painted metal transit case stencilled with a white broad arrow and the store code 6B/472. The collection further includes a pair of nickel-plated steel service spurs, one of which is stamped with the maker’s mark CONINGTON, dated 1941, and features a secondary mark for E.C. & CO. A soldier’s field kit is included, containing a canvas sewing housewife with grey darning wool and needles, three brass button polishing sticks, a wooden-backed clothes brush, and a blue cotton name patch chain-stitched with A.W. WOODHAMS. Additional items comprise a square metal tin embossed with portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, a chromium-plated cigarette case engraved with a map of the British Isles and featuring an enamelled Windsor souvenir badge, and a metal tray containing several spent brass cartridge cases, including .303 calibre rounds.
