This lot comprises a diverse collection of British military ephemera and publications dating from the 1920s to the mid-20th century. Included are two journals: The Fighting Forces, Volume XXV, No. 3, August 1948, and the Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research, Volume XX, No. 77, Spring 1941. The ephemera consists of a group of music programmes and cards for the 1st Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps, including a green programme dated 24 April 1920 and several white cards from June and July 1929, some referencing service in Kottaun, India. The photograph collection contains an assortment of black-and-white press-style prints. Notable subjects include formations of Second World War German aircraft such as the Heinkel He 111 and Messerschmitt Bf 110. Several photographs document a formal exhibition titled The Battle of Britain, showing scale models and visiting dignitaries, including an individual resembling HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Also included is a publicity photograph of a woman in military uniform wearing a Brodie helmet, likely associated with the 1969 film Battle of Britain.
