The auction will close in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £5

Buyer's Premium:

A Chinese porcelain vase of baluster form, later converted for use as a table lamp. The body is decorated in the Famille Rose palette featuring a central scene of a peacock perched upon rockwork among flowering branches against a white ground. The neck is decorated with a vibrant yellow ground panel containing a pink peony and foliate scrolling, bordered by ruyi-head bands in blue, pink, and yellow enamels at the rim and shoulder. The vase is mounted on a turned, dark-stained wooden base and is fitted with a brass-toned bayonet bulb holder and a white electrical cord. The style and palette are characteristic of late 19th or early 20th-century export porcelain, frequently associated with the Republic period. No maker marks or reign marks are visible as the underside is obscured by the wooden mounting.
