This lot comprises two pairs of Chinese Baoding health balls, also known as meditation or stress balls. The first pair consists of highly polished, chrome-finished metal balls, described as iron balls on the accompanying paperwork. These are housed within a red silk-covered presentation box featuring a yellow fabric-lined interior and a brass-toned metal clasp. Included with this set is a gold-toned paper instruction pamphlet which bears the printed text 鐵球說明書, IRON BALL DIRECTION, and MADE IN BAODING, CHINA. The second pair consists of enamelled metal balls decorated with a deep blue ground and circular Yin Yang motifs in black and white. This pair is presented on a simple rectangular dark-stained wood display base. Both sets typically contain internal mechanisms that produce a chime when rotated.
