A large Union Flag of traditional multi-piece sewn construction, fabricated from individual panels of red, white, and blue bunting material. The flag features a white canvas hoist at one end, fitted with a traditional wooden toggle and rope loop for attachment to a halyard. Along one of the long horizontal edges, there are multiple black fabric ties or loops, a configuration that suggests the flag may have been intended for use as a dress flag or designed to be secured along a ship’s rail or a specific display stay. No maker’s marks, size stamps, or official broad arrow markings are visible on the white hoist or along the seams.
