This Art Deco period longcase clock features an oak case with a rounded arch-top hood and a trunk door fitted with a glazed panel. The circular silvered dial is set with black Arabic numerals and an outer minute track, with the word FOREIGN printed at the base. The mechanical, weight-driven movement is stamped on the backplate with the Haller AG sunburst logo, the word Foreign, and serial number 61983. The movement includes an eight-hammer striking and chiming mechanism. Mounted to the case is an engraved silver-toned presentation plaque reading: PRESENTED TO MR. V. J. HEATH BY HIS FELLOW SUPERVISORS AT THE INLAND SECTION G.P.O. ON HIS RETIREMENT 12TH JAN. 1937. The clock is accompanied by its wooden-rod pendulum and three chrome-plated cylindrical weights with their respective chains.
