This lot consists of two vintage mantel clocks of differing styles and mechanisms. The first is a bracket-style mantel clock by Weimar, featuring a dark-stained wooden case with an ornate gilt-metal handle at the top and two turned metal finials. The face is adorned with four scrolling gilt-metal corner spandrels. The circular gold-tone dial has Roman numerals set within individual white cartouches and is marked Weimar Quartz. To the rear, the movement is housed in a clear and blue plastic casing marked Made in GDR, and includes a compartment for a 1.5V battery. The second is a Smiths mechanical mantel clock housed in a shaped wooden case with a curved top and flared, angular base. The cream-coloured rectangular dial features stylized black Arabic numerals at the three, six, nine, and twelve positions, with baton markers for the other hours. It is marked Smiths and Made in Great Britain. The hour hand features a star-shaped counterbalance. The rear reveals a brass mechanical striking movement with a chime coil and a manual lever for strike and silent modes. The movement plate is stamped Made in England, 1 5H, and 54.
