A miniature bulbous earthenware vase featuring a flared trumpet neck, produced by Moorcroft. The exterior is decorated in the Hibiscus pattern, displaying a single large hand-painted floral bloom in shades of coral, red, and blue with green foliage. The decoration is applied using the tube-lining technique, which creates raised slip outlines, all set against a deep cobalt blue ground with a high-gloss glaze finish. The underside of the base retains a circular paper label with the Royal Coat of Arms and the inscription By Appointment W. Moorcroft Potters to the Late Queen Mary. The label also features a handwritten mark in green ink reading M1. Based on the label text referring to the late Queen Mary, this piece dates from between 1953 and approximately 1978.
