The exterior is decorated in the Pansy pattern, showcasing a single large tubelined and hand-painted floral motif in tones of pink, white, and purple with green leaves, positioned against a dark cobalt blue ground. The underside of the base contains several marks including the impressed words MADE IN ENGLAND, a hand-painted signature in blue script for William Moorcroft, and a faint impressed royal warrant mark that reads POTTER TO H.M. THE QUEEN.
