Buyer's Premium:

A small Moorcroft art pottery vase of ovoid or baluster form with a short, slightly flared rim, dating to circa 1930. The earthenware body is decorated in the Orchid pattern, featuring tube-lined floral motifs hand-painted in vibrant shades of deep red, yellow, and green. The background transitions from a pale cream and green at the rim to a deep mottled cobalt blue towards the base. The entire piece is finished with a rich flambe glaze, giving the red tones a deep, lustrous, and variegated appearance. The base of the vase bears the impressed block lettering MADE IN ENGLAND in two lines and a hand-painted script signature in blue pigment for William Moorcroft. A dealer label is affixed to the base with handwritten text identifying the maker, pattern, flambe glaze, and a date of circa 1930.
