A collection of volumes titled The Church of England: A History for the People by the Very Rev. H. D. M. Spence, D.D., Dean of Gloucester. This Special Edition was published by Cassell and Company, Limited and features a dedication by permission to Queen Victoria. The work includes Volume I: The British and Anglo-Saxon Church and subsequent volumes. The books are bound in the publisher’s brown cloth with elaborate black stamped decoration to the front boards and spines, and gilt lettering on the spines. The title page of Volume I features the Belle Sauvage printer’s mark and a small ink ownership stamp for MRS JERVIS. Accompanying the volumes is a softcover genealogical pamphlet titled The Parish Registers of Norfolk, Monograph Series No. 30: Sco Ruston, published by the Norfolk & Norwich Genealogical Society in 1989.
