This collection comprises five volumes related to British agriculture. Included are two volumes, Volume I and Volume II, of the fourth edition of Henry Stephens’ The Book of the Farm, which was revised and in great part rewritten by James Macdonald. These were published by William Blackwood and Sons, Edinburgh and London, in 1891 (MDCCCXCI). These volumes are bound in half-leather over green cloth boards and feature a portrait frontispiece of the author in Volume I. Also present is a two-volume set of collected pamphlets titled Pamphlets: Agriculture I and II. These are bound in half-calf with marbled paper boards and matching marbled endpapers. Internal contents include English Land and American Agriculture: A Letter to His Grace The Duke of Richmond and Gordon by W. H. Gatty, published by W. Pickering, London. The final volume is Lord Addison of Stallingborough’s A Policy for British Agriculture, published by Victor Gollancz Ltd, London, in 1939 as a Left Book Club edition in original red cloth boards.
