An Edwardian style mahogany-finished storage stool, likely intended for use as a piano seat or dressing table stool. The rectangular hinged seat is upholstered in a light-coloured fabric featuring a toile-style printed scene depicting putti or cherubs in a pastoral setting with a goat and foliage. The seat opens to reveal a shallow storage compartment with a brass stay chain. The frame features moulded horizontal detailing and is flanked by two decoratively turned side handles. The whole is raised on four slender cabriole legs. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the interior or exterior of the piece.
