This lot consists of a large group of vintage sheet music, songbooks, and a leather music portfolio, dating from the early 20th century through to the 1970s. Included are various printed folios such as The First Star Folio 1921, containing piano transcriptions, Golden Hours of Easy Piano Pieces Book 2 by Keith Prowse and Co. Ltd., and Francis and Day’s Community Book of Irish Songs. The collection features a variety of sheet music for musicals including South Pacific and The Sound of Music, alongside Jerome Kern compositions. Handwritten lists included in the lot inventory mid-century popular titles from artists such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Paul Anka, and Cliff Richard. Publications from UK houses such as Chappell and Co. Ltd. and Francis, Day and Hunter are represented throughout. The accompanying music portfolio is constructed of brown leather with a single top handle and twin strap-and-buckle fastenings. The initials E. W. are stamped into the leather on the front flap.
