A Victorian oak-cased three-bottle tantalus and games box of substantial rectangular form, featuring decorative Gothic-style brass strapwork, corner mounts, and foliate side carry handles. The top locking rail is operated by a key to release three matching square-section clear cut glass decanters. The decanters are decorated with a traditional diamond and strawberry-diamond cut pattern to the bodies, beneath plain shoulders and multi-faceted spherical stoppers. The front section of the cabinet features twin hinged lids opening to reveal a multi-segmented wooden interior designed for the storage of playing cards, gaming counters, or tobacco. Accompanying the lot is a single silver-plated three-light candelabrum in the neoclassical style. The candelabrum features a central fixed light flanked by two scrolling, intertwined branches, with embossed foliate and floral borders decorating the circular spreading base, stem knops, and drip pans. No maker’s marks or stamps are visible on the metalwork.
