A late Victorian brass duplex oil lamp featuring an ornate embossed font and base. The brasswork displays heavily worked foliate and shell-style motifs in relief throughout. The central pedestal connects a bulbous font to a wide, circular foot with matching decorative patterns. A small brass filler cap is located on the shoulder of the font. The lamp is fitted with a brass duplex burner mechanism featuring two wick adjustment knobs, one of which is embossed with the word DUPLEX. It is topped with a green and white marbled slag glass shade of flared tulip form with a hand-finished ruffled rim. A tall, cylindrical clear glass chimney sits within the shade.
