This collection comprises two distinct groups of items. The first is a cast metal sculpture of a reclining long-haired dog by A. Martin. The animal is naturalistically modelled resting on an integral oval base with a textured cobblestone surface. The front edge of the base is incised with the signature A MARTIN. The piece features a warm golden-brown patina.
The second group consists of an assortment of vintage utility and personal items. This includes a laboratory timer by English Clock Systems housed in a square, cream-painted metal case with two side levers; the word SCIENCE is handwritten in black ink on the top. It is accompanied by an oval-shaped brown leather collar box with a velvet-lined interior. The underside of the lid bears a gilt stamp for PENICARDS LTD, 13 NEW BOND ST. W., AND AT LIVERPOOL & MANCHESTER. The box contains a vintage detachable white stiff collar marked size 15 1/2. Also included is a wide brown leather utility belt featuring an attached rectangular leather pouch with a stud fastening and a large rectangular silver-toned metal buckle decorated with two raised oval bosses.
