A collection of three walking sticks of varying designs. The first stick is a shepherd’s crook with a polished dark wood handle featuring a terminal scroll, joined to a natural wood shaft with bark texture by a plain white metal collar. The second stick is a thumbstick with a forked handle of light-coloured wood or polished horn with dark horn tips, mounted on a knobby dark-stained blackthorn shaft and finished with a modern black rubber ferrule. The third stick is silver-capped with a sterling silver pommel on a smooth, pale wood shaft. The silver cap is struck with London hallmarks including the lion passant, leopard’s head, and the date letter m for 1927. The maker’s mark RJ is for Robert James.
