An assortment of late 19th and early 20th-century hat pins and stick pins, presented on a black fabric-covered domed pincushion. The collection features gold-tone butterfly pins with coiled wire stems in an en tremblant style. A gold-tone stick pin displays an enameled heraldic crest divided into a black eagle on a gold field and a silver sword on a blue field, surmounted by a crown. Included is a silver-tone horseshoe pin with stippled decoration and four illegible rectangular punch marks on the reverse. Several pins have large, cream-coloured heads, including a tapered ribbed conical form and a peanut-shaped head, crafted from carved natural or early synthetic materials. Further ornamental pins include a faceted clear glass head, a silver-tone thistle motif, a small insect, and various metallic and coloured bead heads. The shafts are constructed from base metals and steel.
