This lot consists of two decorative brass pieces. The first is a cylindrical cachepot of neo-classical design, featuring an embossed frieze around the centre depicting a continuous procession of dancing putti holding swags of fabric. The vessel is constructed with a stepped rim and base and is supported by three cast brass lion-paw feet. An obscured oval mark is present on the interior base, though it is currently illegible due to surface deposits and oxidisation. The second item is a decorative umbrella stand designed in the form of an open umbrella. The upper canopy section displays a hammered finish and is accented with ball finials at the points. Thin wire ribs extend to a central shaft topped with a curved J-shaped handle. The stand is supported by a circular weighted and flared base. The design is characteristic of French Hollywood Regency brassware from the mid-20th century.
