An assortment of four sculptural items comprising a pair of classical-style busts and a pair of East Asian carved figures. The busts are cast in a composite material, likely resin or bonded marble dust, with a cream-coloured painted finish. They represent the Greek deities Apollo (modeled after the Apollo Belvedere) and Artemis. Both busts feature integral circular pedestal bases and bear incised inscriptions to the reverse of the shoulder supports reading APOLLO and ARTEMIS. While visually consistent with pieces produced by G. Ruggeri of Italy, no maker’s mark is visible in the provided images. The lot further includes a pair of standing figures carved from a dense, dark reddish-brown hardwood. These figures depict jovial East Asian characters, possibly immortals or monks, wearing flowing robes and wide-brimmed hats. Each wooden figure stands upon an intricately carved openwork base resembling rootwood.
