A Japanese porcelain tea and coffee service featuring the traditional dragonware pattern. The decoration is executed using the moriage technique, characterised by raised slip-trailing that forms a three-dimensional white dragon with blue and gold highlights. The design is set against a smoky ground of shaded grey and black. The service comprises a tall coffee or teapot with a swan-neck spout and pointed finial, a lidded sugar bowl with twin handles, a matching cream jug, and a set of cups and saucers. Each piece is finished with gilded rims, handles, and finials. A circular red mark is present on the underside of the cups, though it is not clearly legible.
