This collection consists of three pieces of mid-20th-century ceramic promotional memorabilia originating from the United Kingdom. The group includes two black barrel-shaped water jugs for VAT 69 Scotch Whisky, produced by Wade. These jugs are of graduated sizes and are decorated with white block lettering for the brand name. Subsidiary gold-coloured text identifies the distillers as Wm Sanderson and Son, Ltd. of Leith. Both jugs carry a red printed maker’s mark on the base for Wade Regicor London England. Also included is an oval ceramic dish for Woodbine cigarettes. The interior is finished in a white glaze featuring the Woodbine logo in red panels. The exterior is finished in a contrasting green glaze. The form includes two small rim indentations for use as an ashtray. There is no visible maker’s mark on the base of the dish, which is fitted with two white protective pads.
