This lot comprises a collection of fine porcelain decorative plates primarily issued by Franklin Porcelain during the early 1980s. The assortment includes varying sizes, featuring large display plates, medium plates, and a group of miniature cabinet plates. Each piece is decorated with naturalistic transfer-printed illustrations depicting a variety of British and global wildlife, finished with gilded rims. Featured bird species include the Barn Owl, Mallard, Wood Duck, Capercaillie, Lapwing, Pintail Duck, Canada Goose, Turtle Dove, Common Tern, Cuckoo, and Great Spotted Woodpecker. Mammalian subjects include Red Foxes, Otter, Skunks, Red Squirrels, Fallow Deer fawns, and Rabbits. The miniature plates are from the Songbirds of the World series and include species such as the Chaffinch and Blue Tit. Backstamps confirm several plates are from the Water Birds of the World series, crafted by Haviland, Limoges, France, featuring artwork by Basil Ede. Other plates were produced for the International Council for Bird Preservation with artwork attributed to Terance James Bond, while the miniature plates feature the signature of artist Colin Newman. Printed marks include the Franklin Porcelain fp monogram and copyright dates ranging from 1981 to 1984.
