A contemporary Portmeirion footed cake stand from The Holly and the Ivy collection. The stand is made of white-glazed ceramic and features a scalloped, reticulated (pierced) rim. The top surface is decorated with transfer-printed sprigs of holly with red berries and ivy with dark blue berries. The central motif is surrounded by lyrics from the traditional Christmas carol in cursive script: The holly and the ivy when they are both full grown / Of all the trees that are in the wood the holly bears the crown.
