A pair of relief-molded earthenware items designed by Clarice Cliff for the Newport Pottery Company. The collection comprises a large circular bowl and an elongated, leaf-shaped platter. Each piece is finished in a pale celadon green glaze with a textured lattice-molded ground. The exterior of the bowl is adorned with bold, relief-molded leaves in hand-painted autumnal shades of green, yellow, and brown. The platter features a central relief-molded leaf motif with surrounding clusters of berries and small blue flowers. Both pieces bear the green printed manufacturer backstamp Clarice Cliff NEWPORT POTTERY CO ENGLAND to the underside. The bowl is further marked with impressed characters 36 A and the platter with LSA.
